The French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, and former British prime minister, Tony Blair will be hosting a conference on January 8th and 9th,2009 on the global financial crisis in Paris. German Chancellor Angela Merkel will also speak at the opening address. Under the banner of “New World, New Capitalism”, the meeting is to include discussions on the new model of capitalism, greater financial market regulation, global alignment of accounting standards and a bigger role for the IMF.
