GlobeCast Delivers a Power Serve for NBC Sports from the French Open


Content delivery company brings HD coverage via satellite to American broadcasting giant

Paris, 29 May 2008 – GlobeCast is currently on site at the French Tennis Open in Paris, providing NBC Sports with live transmission of its HD coverage of this world-renowned tournament.

This 80th edition of the Roland Garros is the first time that NBC Sports has delivered this prestigious event in High Definition. GlobeCast, a leading content management and delivery company, has dedicated an HD SNG truck to NBC Sports to deliver live HD feeds for the weekend matches. GlobeCast’s end to end solution includes SNG services, international satellite capacity, downlink and handoff to NBC in New York.

The Roland Garros stadium, created in 1928 to host the Davis Cup final between the United States and France, celebrates its 80th birthday this year. A total of 32 matches are played during the tournament, and millions of viewers around the globe are expected to tune in.
