GlobeCast Named 2005 Top Independent Teleport Operator by World Teleport Association

Company Also Included in WTA’s ‘Global Top Ten’

Paris, 6 January 2006– GlobeCast - a leading global content management and delivery company and subsidiary of France Telecom (NYSE: FTE) – has been named as the top Independent Teleport Operator for 2005 by the World Teleport Association (WTA). The WTA has also included GlobeCast on its 2005 Top Ten list of Global Teleport operators, placing the company in the top 5. The Global Top Ten ranking is based on total revenue from all sources and includes all commercial operators, including independents, satellite carriers, fiber carriers and technology companies. The Independent Top Ten ranking is based on total revenue from all sources but excludes companies whose primary business is satellite fleet operations. According to WTA, innovative independents remain the core of the teleport sector and are frequently pioneers in developing new markets and introducing new applications.

GlobeCast’s leadership ranking in the WTA report is a reflection of the company’s growth as a global content management company. GlobeCast owns leases on more than 150 satellite transponders worldwide and supports satellite and fiber delivery from 15 teleports and technical operations centers throughout Europe, America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. In 2005, the company made important investments in its facilities with launch of television-to-mobile, IPTV/video over DSL and content management platforms. GlobeCast enjoyed a banner year of honors and recognition in 2005. Earlier this year, the WTA named David Sprechman, President and CEO GlobeCast America, the Teleport Executive of the Year during the WTA’s 10 th Annual Teleport Awards for Excellence Program at Satellite 2005 in Washington DC. In September, the company’s WING Content Exchange won the Product of the Year Award in the category for Best Outside Broadcast Technology or Service at the Cable & Satellite International awards ceremony at IBC in Amsterdam .
