GlobeCast Showcases Global Expansion at IBC 2008
Paris, 21 July 2008 – GlobeCast will be showcasing its recent expansions and upgrades at IBC 2008. The broadcast content management and delivery company has recently opened a new office in Asia, upgraded HD facilities in America, has added additional fibre links to its worldwide network as well as new products and greater satellite capacity. Information will be available from GlobeCast’s worldwide staff at stand 1.A59.
GlobeCast opens in Hong Kong
GlobeCast has opened an office in Hong Kong, following its recent acquisition of broadcast services company Pacific Century Matrix (PCM). Interconnected with GlobeCast’s extensive satellite and fibre content distribution network worldwide, the Hong Kong teleport and MCR facility will provide increased capacity to offer worldwide solutions for broadcasters coming to and from Asia, and the sales office will offer an integral commercial point of presence. GlobeCast Asia staff will be on hand at IBC 2008 for any enquiries.
Increased satellite capacity
Blue chip broadcasters and smaller channels alike are invited to join GlobeCast’s newest satellite platform on EUROBIRD 9 for Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. EUROBIRD 9 is extremely attractive thanks to its shared neighbourhood with the 1,100 channels on HOT BIRD – providing immediate access to major cable and DTH operators such as Tele Columbus, Visavision and TVTel through easy dual reception. Now is the time to secure a spot!
New Media Management products and solutions
As broadcasters increasingly look to outsource their content management, GlobeCast has opened its third playout and media management centre in Singapore. The company also offers this one stop solution from its facilities in London and Florida, which already serve major clients such as Arsenal TV and ION Networks.
GlobeCast expands its fibre footprint
GlobeCast has expanded its next-generation global fibre ring to Eastern Europe. This latest addition to the network will connect Eastern Europe with points-of-presence in Asia, America and Europe through a common platform. GlobeCast’s international fibre network is built for broadcast traffic, both permanent and ad-hoc, and is completely HD-ready.
HD Evolution in the United States
GlobeCast has upgraded its High Definition (HD) infrastructure and formed strategic alliances in the Americas in response to growing demand for the distribution and contribution of HD content between America and the rest of the world.
