GlobeCast Successfully Delivers HD French Open Coverage for NBC SportsPARIS and NEW YORK — June 6, 2011 — This weekend, GlobeCast successfully wrapped up its services to NBC Sports’ HD coverage of the 2011 French Open tennis tournament at Roland Garros in Paris. For the duration of the May 22 – June 5 event, GlobeCast provided NBC Sports with a dedicated HD satellite news gathering (SNG) vehicle, enabling delivery of live HD feeds from France to the United States. GlobeCast’s solution included an SNG uplink, technical staff to support ground operations, and international satellite capacity to transport the signal from Paris to New York. Jim Ellis, operations producer at NBC Sports in New York said, “GlobeCast’s quality of service and commitment to our program are two reasons why I continue to enjoy working with them on the French Open.” This is the third year that GlobeCast has worked with NBC Sports on the prestigious international tennis tournament. |
