GlobeCast delivered the live transmission and provided pre and post production support for the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011 for MP & Silva, the exclusive media rights distributor and production agency of Singapore’s signature running event.

The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore is the largest and most established race in this region, and this year was its 9th year running. About 60,000 runners participated this year, from 6,000 in 2002 to 24,000 in 2005, and 50,000 last year.

GlobeCast was onsite during the event, covering the live transmission from two locations, Sentosa and Padang. GlobeCast uplinked the feeds directly from Sentosa, which was the starting point for the half marathon via two SD/HD SNGs, and after which was transmitted to Padang Outside Broadcast production centre, before it was transmitted from Padang as the main feed for broadcasters such as Starhub, EuroSport and Astro.

In addition to the satellite delivery, GlobeCast also provided the pre and post production services for the live coverage as well as the event highlights program. This includes the profiles of key runners, sponsorship packages and highlights of the race. The production services included ingesting, transcoding, editing, color correcting, audio voice over recording, audio mixing and file mastering and duplicating. The post production for the event highlights was wrapped up in mid-December.
