Job Overview:

With a focus on comprehending, maintaining, and controlling solutions and scaling costs, the business analyst will play a key role in analysing clients’ needs and converting them into functional requirements. To ensure the delivery of high-quality, economically viable solutions that exceed client expectations, this role necessitates tight coordination with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, operations, and project management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working across multiple proposals, thoroughly understanding customers’ needs and goals by analysing written requests and orchestrating discussions with stakeholders to get a clear picture of what is required.
  1. Manage and maintain costs for each project assisting sales with maintaining a commercial business case and paying particular attention to efficiency and scalability.
  2. Map business needs into explicit functional specifications and processes.
  3. Document requirements, scope, deliverables, processes, and other details. Identify any potential challenges or key issues that need to be addressed in the response.
  4. Manage the creation of written proposals to opportunities ensuring that they clearly outline how our solutions and organisation can meet the customer’s needs.
  5. Closely collaborate with the team to create and validate technical solutions that satisfy customer needs, specifications, financial restrictions and alignment with our capability
  6. Keep track of the project’s development and proactively spot potential risks and problems (especially commercial) whilst working with the project team to devise and execute mitigation plans.
  7. Manage and grow a library of previous responses, costs and templates to allow the team to be able to scale up the volume and speed of proposals.
  8. Constantly keep an eye out for possibilities to improve the company’s service offerings, capabilities, and cost competitiveness. This includes keeping an eye on market trends, upcoming technology, and competitor pricing strategies.
  9. Promote communication between customers, project teams, and other stakeholders with a focus on cost control to guarantee effective project execution and delivery.

Requirements:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline, or the equivalent in experience.
  2. A business analyst with a minimum of three years’ experience, particularly in the media, technology, or broadcasting sectors, with a cost management and analysis concentration.
  3. Thorough knowledge of system integration, playout, encoding, transmission, and distribution solutions, as well as broadcast services.
  4. Strong emphasis on cost optimisation and budget management, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  5. Effective interpersonal and communication abilities that enable collaboration with clients, internal teams, and external partners.
  6. The capacity to manage numerous projects concurrently in a time-constrained setting.
  7. Proficiency with common business analysis tools and processes, including cost analysis, use case building, process mapping, and requirements collecting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Project management expertise or accreditation (such as PRINCE2 or PMP).
  2. Knowledge of the costs associated with virtualized and cloud-based broadcast technologies.
  3. Knowledge of broadcast technologies and systems, including MPEG, DVB, ATSC, SDI, IP, ASI, ABR, HLS, and DASH.
